I originally purchased this cable selecting 'cablemart' as the seller. I did not receive the product in the picture. Instead, I received a cable manufactured by Monoprice. The Monoprice cable has a heavier gauge cable and a huge Mini DisplayPort connector. The connector is so big that it obstructs the USB port on a Macbook Pro. Another issue, is that the Monoprice cable causes problems with sleeping my monitor. It will go to sleep and then wake back up repeatedly.
I sent a message to cablemart about my issue and they quickly replied with an offer to refund a couple bucks for my trouble. I think that's good customer service on their part.
I found out that 'Cable Matters' ships the product in the pictures. I received it in a couple days and it was perfect. The Mini DisplayPort connector is exactly like the one on Apple brand adapters. It doesn't obstruct the USB port and my monitor sleep properly with this cable.
I rated this product 5 stars because it's perfect as long as you get the product in the photos. You may want to check with the seller before confirming your order.

(More customer reviews)I was unable to send both video and audio from a brand new (late 2010) 17" macbook pro. As a video adapter it works fine, and if that was all that I was expecting, I would give it 3-4 stars (1080i resolution doesn't fit the screen). But this cable is falsely advertised as supporting audio. I am a software developer and know how to configure these systems. So I can say this with confidence. I'm not sure why the other reviewer was able to pass audio. It could be that they sent us different cables.
Update - I ended up purchasing a Griffin Mini displayport to HDMI adapter (search for "Griffin Video Display Converter"). The adapter passes video and audio via HDMI without a problem. So my original audio problem was definitely with the cable. 1080i resolution also fits in the screen properly with the Griffin adapter (although the picture is still fuzzy - that may be a limitation of the video card).

LG Electronics 8X External Blu-ray ReWrite Drive BE08LU20 BLACK/RETAIL (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this external drive a month ago, since I wanted to keep my current internal DVD drive. This LG BE08LU20 has worked flawlessly and produced perfect BD discs. I've burned and erased about 10 times with BD-RE discs and have burned 3 BD-R discs. Each one turned out perfectly - no coasters.
I've used quality blank discs - Verbatim BD-R and BD-RE. I can't speak for other brands, but reviews I've read indicate Verbatim has fewer problems.
The USB connect is great if you have no ESATA external outlet. But it's much slower than using ESATA. USB burns at 480 mb/s. ESATA burns at 1.5 gb/s -- around 3 times faster. Significantly, LG includes an external ESATA bracket, with a cable, so you can easily create an external ESATA outlet (assuming your computer has an open ESATA connect on the motherboard and an available slot in the back). The bracket is the typical large size, so if you have a smaller computer, like the Dell Inspiron, you'll need to order a "low profile" ESATA bracket.
It's a beautiful device and looks good, sitting next to your computer. It's easily set up. I had it up and running in about 5 minutes, and it's worked perfectly, from the beginning.
