(More customer reviews)According to the professionals, I sacrificed picture quality for ease of operation. For those who don't know any better (and I don't), there is no sacrifice. I'm very pleased with my purchase, as I wasn't prepared to spend over $500 for an HD camcorder. It's extremely easy to use and being a beginner, there is no need for me or (more importantly) my wife, to use manual mode, putting full confidence in Intelligent Auto.
My only complaint at this point is that the mini-HDMI port has a short, requiring me to ship back for a replacement, which will not be a quick turnaround. I'm excited to get back the replacement and test out the Viera Link functions.
I don't have much to say about the included software, as I've replaced it with Sony Vegas 9. I've just been using the software to download my videos from the SDHC card to the computer. All my editing is done with Sony Vegas. If this is your first HD camcorder and you're on a budget, get this one, you'll be pleased with the quality, relieved at the ease of use and amazed at the size!
