(More customer reviews)I got this to use on both my laptop running win7 64bit and my imac. I purchased an external sata/usb case to make this an external drive since I don't have drive bays. It works on an imac but only for read/write. On the win machine I can watch movies and burn Blu-Ray and DVD/CD-r's. The initial install of the drive's included software was a little disastrous. After the install the drive wasn't recognized. With some online research I found that the Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 was outdated in every way so I had to purchase an upgrade to version 10. Once I did that things worked much better. I still find that after my computer boots, if the drive isn't recognized all I need to do is turn off the power on the drive box and then turn it back on and things work.
The drive is a 10X Blu-Ray so it burns fairly fast although I've only used 4x discs. It burns cd's and DVD's super fast too. This drive is also capable of doing LightScribe but there aren't any logos on the face or anything in the manual. Its a quiet drive for the most part but sometimes will rev-up like a jet engine. My biggest gripe with the drive is that it was an OEM and was packaged in a ziplock style bag. Amazon surprisingly packed this terribly loose in the box but luckily there were other items with it to keep it from swimming in the box.
Other than the install software being outdated and the packaging issue, I think so far its a great drive that works the way I expected it to.
